Something to Ponder

No one sentence
is more
dangerous or
revolutionary
than:
GOD is ONE
and
there is NO OTHER
like
Him.
There is no more room now for
what the recent past called toleration.
Beside GOD there are only His creatures
or false gods, and beside FAITH in HIM
there are religions only as
religions of superstition, error and finally irreligion.

He is Risen!

Luke 24:1-12

Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.

Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, "The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again."

And they remembered His words. Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them. But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.

He is Risen! King of Kings, Lord of Lords,

Our Savior, He has risen indeed!

Isaiah 53:5

He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our sins;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him,
and by His wounds we are healed.

St. Patrick's Day Thoughts

Patrick was a man, who believed he was called by God to save a nation! And apparently, he was right! Kidnapped in his teens and forced to Ireland in slavery, Patrick found God and followed a calling to convert a pagan world into a Christian land. Patrick's passion for Christ changed Christianity. In Ireland, before Patrick, to be a Christian meant to be a Roman, and the pagans wanted no such thing. Patrick found a way to share his faith that was effective and far-reaching! His obedience to the calling of the Holy Spirit to transform a nation through the power of Christ proved fruitful! Saving thousands and changing the face of Christianity forever.

The following is a Celtic poem that has been attributed to St. Patrick. A lorica is a protective enamel, a shield. It can be equated to a turtle shell. This poem was St. Patrick's protective shield of faith. Can you imagine having a faith like Patrick? Believing to your inner most being that you are special and you are called to change your world? You are, start believing it! And more importantly, start acting on it, and just, turn it over to God and see how He will use YOU to change the world!!!

The Lorica of St. Patrick

I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation.

I arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth and His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion and His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection and His ascension,
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.

I arise today
Through the strength of the love of cherubim,
In obedience of angels, In service of archangels,
In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In the prayers of patriarchs,
In preachings of the apostles,
In faiths of confessors,
In innocence of virgins,
In deeds of righteous men.

I arise today
through the strength of Heaven
the rays of the sun,
the radiance of the moon,
the splendor of fire,
the speed of lightening,
the swiftness of the wind,
the depth of the sea,
the stability of the earth
the firmness of rock.

I arise today
through the power of God:
God's might to comfort me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to lead me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's Heavenly Host to save me
from the snares of the devil,
from temptations to sin,
from all who wish me ill,
from near and afar,
alone and with others.

May Christ shield me today
against poison and fire,
against drowning and wounding,
so that I may fulfill my mission
and bear fruit in abundance.
Christ behind and before me,
Christ behind and above me,
Christ with me and in me,
Christ around and about me,
Christ on my right and on my left,
Christ when I lie down at night,
Christ when I rise in the morning,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone that speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.

A Holy and Pleasing Offering

"Therefore, I urge you, sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2

Girlfriends, we learned in our study of Daniel what it meant to have resolve: to dedicate ourselves fully, mind, body and soul to Christ. Daniel did this everyday of his life on the easy days and on the days that seemed all hope was gone. He resolved to remain holy and unblemished by the world he was living in, he resolved to love the Lord his God with all his heart, with all his soul and with all his mind.

Do we have that same resolve? Can we say that we have resolved to remain holy in this crazy world we live in? One of easiest ways for us to grow our resolve in Christ is through prayer. Do we pray daily like Daniel? Daniel didn't just pray daily, Daniel prayed at least three times daily. Knowing Daniel's passion for God, I can imagine that these specific prayer times weren't the "well, while I have a few extra moments right now, I'll pray" type prayers. I'm certain that these three times were purposeful, isolated times, where Daniel gave his all to God expecting God to answer.

Today, we can offer so many excuses as to why we don't have time to pray or the ability to be holy. God has called us to holiness. He has given Christ not just to forgive our sins, but to take away the sins of the world. When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming in the distance his words were clear, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29) He has come to make us a new creation, not just to forgive and forget our transgressions! He has come so we can be holy. We can in Christ live a life that is offered up to him as a holy sacrifice!

I've posted a video before by The Passion for Christ Movement. I've found another that brings this all home. Don't forget to pause the music in the box to the right before playing the video.
